How would you spend €51 billion?
In 2017, the Government plan to spend an additional €1 billion on public services or reducing taxes. From health to education and pensions to transport, we all rely on taxes to pay for services - but what do you think the right mix is.
Our online tool allows tens of thousands of people tell us how they would like the Government to spend our money.

Irish people want Government investments to be made in areas affecting our young and old.
Note on methodology: During September, Ignite Research asked a nationally representative sample of 1,000 Irish adults to construct the People’s Budget. Each one of those people were asked to make decisions on how they would allocate an additional €1billion spend in 2016 for the Irish Exchequer. We asked people to allocate their budget between taxation cuts and increases in expenditure as they saw fit. People then decided how they would distribute their taxation and expenditure adjustments across the most significant government account items.
